Online Event. Please register using button to the right.
This workshop counts towards the University Teaching Foundations program under the category of Reflective Teaching and Career Readiness (RTCR).
A teaching dossier is an integral document for evidencing and communicating your teaching practice and experience to your readers. They are a concise summary of your teaching accomplishments and effectiveness, often required when applying for academic positions, promotion, or critical reflection on your teaching practice.
Join us for this session to collaboratively describe your fundamental approaches to teaching, find out what can count as evidence for your claims, and get feedback on your work.
Intended Learning Outcomes
By the end of this workshop, successful participants should be able to:
- Explain how teaching dossiers are typically used in academic job applications
- Describe the typical components of a teaching dossier; in particular, the statement of teaching philosophy
- Begin to draft a statement of teaching philosophy using reflective exercises
Please Note: Workshops will open 5 minutes before the start and close 5 minutes into the session. After 5 minutes into the workshop you will no longer be able to join. Facilitators need to have their full attention devoted to the workshop
