Grading and feedback are most effective when grounded in the philosophy that assessment is a tool for learning, not just evaluation. Thoughtful, timely, and constructive feedback helps students understand their progress, reflect on their learning, and take actionable steps toward improvement, thus making it an essential component of a supportive and learner-centered teaching practice. In this session, we will investigate strategies and tools to facilitate effective and efficient grading and feedback. We will also highlight how tools such as Dropbox, Rubrics, Gradescope, and FeedbackFruits can be used to facilitate expedited and consistent grading and feedback.
