The Office of Teaching and Learning is pleased to offer two online workshops to support the development of two teaching dossier components: your statement of teaching philosophy and your teaching dossier narrative.
Workshop #1: Reflecting on and Revising Your Teaching Philosophy Statement
A two-day workshop on Monday, May 27th, 2024, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM and Tuesday, May 28th, 2024, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM
Online via MS Teams
In this two-day interactive workshop, you will engage in revising and refining their teaching philosophy statements. Using practical tools and reflective exercises, you will be guided in identifying their strengths, areas to focus on, and ensuring alignment between your teaching philosophy and teaching practice. Please come with a completed draft of your teaching philosophy statement. On the second day, you will have the opportunity to engage in peer feedback sessions to give and receive constructive input in a supportive and collaborative learning environment.
Join us as we navigate crafting a compelling teaching philosophy statement that not only captures your authentic pedagogical approach, but also reflects your commitment to excellence in teaching and learning.
In order to help build a collegial environment, we require that participants attend Day 1 to be eligible for peer feedback on Day 2.
Enrollment is limited to 30 participants for this workshop. Please register online by Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
Note: This voluntary workshop will not provide advice or guidance about the T&P process or requirements, but will provide general support for reflecting on your current teaching philosophy statement. This session is open to Faculty and those with Contractually Limited appointments only. It is NOT intended for those preparing a teaching philosophy for an award or job application. If you have questions about the T&P process, please contact your Chair/Director, Dean's Office, FASR, or UGFA.
