Educational Research and Inquiry Overview

The Office of Teaching and Learning researches, funds, and collaborates on educational projects and scholarship that informs and enhances learning experiences, teaching practices, and educational development within and across the disciplines. We collaborate with faculty, students, and staff to conduct discipline-based educational research and the scholarship of teaching and learning. We believe that "asking and answering questions about students' learning in ways that can improve one's own classroom and also advance the larger profession of teaching" (Huber and Hutchings, 2005, p.1) is an important element of being a researcher and scholar in higher education. It is by investigating, exploring, and reflecting on teaching and learning that we develop and foster improvement in learning for students.
