Curriculum Evaluation and Assessment Overview

Assessment and evaluation are integral components of nearly everything that happens in an educational setting. Assessment is threaded through all aspects of learning and is critical for development and fostering a culture of reflective improvement for both students and faculty. It is needed in order to understand how we have achieved what we have set out to do, and whether students have achieved the outcomes of their courses and programs.

The Office of Teaching and Learning works with faculty and programs at various levels of assessment, from assessing the effectiveness of in-course assessments, through program review, quality assurance processes and beyond.

Information on designing effective course assignments and assessments can be found in the Course Design section of our website
