Teaching awards such as the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) Teaching Awards and the 3M National Teaching Fellowship recognize excellence in educational leadership and teaching in higher education. These awards are bestowed by organizations external to the University, but the Office of Teaching and Learning has experience and expertise in creating effective award applications and coordinating application packages.

3M Teaching Fellowships

D2L Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning
The D2L Innovation Award in Teaching and Learning, sponsored by D2L (Desire2Learn), recognizes up to five post-secondary collaborative teams each year for their innovative approached that promote student-centred teaching and learning. The Alan Blizzard Award (Retired)
Sponsored by STLHE, McGraw Hill-Ryerson (higher education division) and University Affairs, the Alan Blizzard Award recognized instructors whose exemplary collaboration in university teaching enhanced student learning. Visit the Alan Blizzard Award website (Retired) for award information.
Canadian Veterinary Medical Association Teacher of the Year
The CVMA Teacher of the Year Award goes to a faculty member who has displayed teaching excellence in Phase 2 of the DVM curriculum. Carl J. Norden Distinguished Teacher Award
The highest teaching award given by each North American veterinary college, the recipient of the Carl J. Norden Distinguished Teacher Award is chosen based on a vote of the second-, third- and fourth-year veterinary classes. This award recognizes an outstanding teacher who—through their ability, dedication and leadership—contributes significantly to the advancement of the veterinary profession. See previous Carl J.
