Program Description
The Educational Leadership in Teaching Excellence (EnLITE) program is designed to promote educational leadership through faculty engagement in the principles, practice and scholarly approaches to teaching and learning in higher education. The program supports the University of Guelph's exemplary teaching and learning community by fostering on-going professional development and engagement by promoting a learner-centred approach to teaching in higher education. It has been developed to establish and support a faculty community of practice which provides mentorship and leadership in implementing scholarly approaches to teaching and learning.
The EnLITE program has two streams or options. The first, named “Core,” is the basic community of practice with a few other requirements. The second option, “Plus+,” is SEDA accredited and allows the participant full engagement with the program. The table below shows the difference between the two streams.

EnLITE-SEDA Collaboration

We are proud of the fact that EnLITE is accredited by the UK-based Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA). SEDA is a professional association for faculty and educational developers, promoting innovation and good practice in higher education. SEDA offers universities across Europe, and increasingly internationally, the opportunity to be part of a national network of programs and people engaged in teaching excellence. The EnLITE program at the University of Guelph is currently one of only a few such SEDA-accredited programs in North America.
