Decolonizing Education: Nourishing the Learning Spirit Book Club #1

Join Educational Developers from the Office of Teaching and Learning for a Virtual Book Club on a learning journey with you collectively reading and discussing the book Decolonizing Education: Nourishing the Learning Spirit (Battiste, 2013). At each meeting we will discuss the concepts in the book and share resources and ideas related to Indigenizing and decolonizing our teaching practices.

Foundations – Managing Inclusive and Diverse Learning Spaces (ACTL)

This workshop will guide you through some of the commonly encountered conflicts in the classroom and provide you with the necessary tools to handle those situations in a professional manner. We will also discuss topics related to making your classroom a safe learning environment for all students (e.g. inviting students to share their gender pronouns, reducing anxiety of students, create opportunities to increase sense of belongingness for all students).

SoTL Journal Club #31

Join us for our online Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) journal clubs, where we discuss a recent teaching publication. If you missed previous meetings, do not worry! We will send an email with the paper in advance and it will also be posted on the Eventbrite page once available. Please read the paper and bring any questions, comments or critiques with you.

Join us to learn about Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) research happening at the University of Guelph! Three guest speakers (TBA)will join us to discuss their own teachign practice and career experience in the space of education.
