Pre‑Conference Showcase Day Overview

The Pre‑Conference Showcase Day on Wednesday, May 20th brings together two opportunities to explore teaching, learning, and educational technology at the University of Guelph. Throughout the day, attendees can connect with colleagues, learn about current initiatives, and engage with ideas that support evidence‑informed teaching and meaningful educational innovation.

The morning features the EdTech Showcase, offering presentations and discussions focused on centrally supported educational technologies and their pedagogical applications.

In the afternoon, the University Teaching Leadership Fellows Showcase highlights the work and insights of Fellows who have been advancing innovative and effective teaching and learning practices, pedagogical inquiry, and evidence‑informed approaches that contribute to student learning and success across the institution.

EdTech Showcase

Wednesday, May 20, 2026 | 9:30–11:30am | University Centre Room 442

The EdTech Showcase provides an opportunity to learn from peers who have tackled teaching and learning challenges with centrally supported educational technology (EdTech) at the University of Guelph. The showcase will feature brief presentations from educators who have leveraged Gradescope, iClicker, CourseLink, and FeedbackFruits. Each presenter will define the challenge they faced, the EdTech solution they implemented, and the impact it had on their course and students. After each presentation, there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion.

By the end of the showcase, attendees will be able to…

  • Identify educational technologies that are centrally supported at the University of Guelph.

  • Discuss with colleagues how educational technologies are selected, implemented, and evaluated in courses.

  • Assess how different educational technologies can help address various pedagogical challenges across different disciplines.

  • Explore opportunities to apply similar educational technology solutions for their own course or assessment design.

This event is Free! Registration will open in March.

University Teaching Leadership Fellows Showcase

Wednesday, May 20, 2026 | 1:00–3:00pm | University Centre Room 442

The Fellows Showcase is an opportunity to learn about the work the Fellows have been engaging in since 2023 as part of the University of Guelph's Teaching Leadership Fellows program. Through lightning talks and interactive roundtable discussions, Fellows will highlight innovations, research findings, and pedagogical approaches emerging from their projects. Attendees will learn about promising insights, practical strategies, and possibilities for collaboration. The projects shared here contribute to ongoing conversations about teaching and learning enhancement at the University of Guelph, helping lay groundwork for future directions, partnerships, and innovations.

About the Teaching Leadership Fellows Program

The  University Teaching Leadership Fellows program has supported midcareer faculty in advancing scholarly and evidence informed teaching, leading change within their departments and units, and contributing to a culture that values and applies Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). Through mentorship, community, and structured support, Fellows have developed research projects that foster institutional impact and inform future practice. The work emerging from this program leaves a lasting legacy that will continue to influence pedagogical approaches, inspire new inquiry, and shape teaching and learning conversations at the University of Guelph.

This event is Free! Registration will open in March.
